Boarding this train was a memorable experience for us and the 20 km journey was indeed magnificent and left an aura of golden memorabilia in our mind. The child in me gasped with joy peeping out seeing the rivers cutting through the deep ravines, waterfalls gushing down the side of steep snow capped cliffs and mountain farms clinged dizzily to sheer slopes.
Hats off to the Norwegian engineering, evident through the twisting tunnels that spiral in and out of the mountains and are true manifestations of most skillful engineering in Norwegian railway history.
The view from the foot of the mountains was as alluring as ever as we enjoyed the natural beauty of the Flam valley and adored the majestic Aurlandfjord. Truly, the Flam Railway showcases a vibrant face to the world. The engines and carriages are in natural green decor with a unique guide and loudspeaker service explaining each and every place like a teacher to a student with information in different languages.
The Flam Rail journey was an indelible experience hard to pen down in words.
